COVID-19 AND WHAT WE'RE DOING
As the body of Christ, we have been working hard to meet the expectations of the coming challenges. What we are doing as a church is trusting God, praying, being informed,
and preparing for what may come next.
HERE IS WHAT WE'RE DOING AS A CHURCH
TRUSTING IN GOD
Viral disease is a fact of biological existence and part of creation. Keeping perspective and not panicking applies here, just as we do for all the other risks we face as creatures in a finite world. No matter how dire the circumstances, the Lord remains our refuge and strength, "an ever-present help in times of trouble" (Ps. 46: 1). Trusting the Lord in the midst of problems is experiencing and witnessing to the power of Christ.
We must pray for the sick and frightened, for public health officials, for doctors and nurses, for researchers and for caregivers. As Christians, we believe that prayer has power, so we seek help from the Lord.
KEEPING OURSELVES INFORMED
The media is flooded with daily updates and it is impossible to read, absorb and respond to every news report, tweet or latest rumor. We follow a trustworthy list of information for educational, planning and management purposes.
Because COVID-19 probably spreads like the cold and flu, personal hygiene is very important for all ages. We are also doing the following:
We communicate directly with local public health officials and stay informed on updates from the community.
We are adjusting our services for the week so that they are only online until further notice.
Teams and midweek meetings are evaluated week by week.
We are reviewing all of our communication practices with our church family and implementing appropriate communication when appropriate, such as this website.
